It’s time for another Tell Us About…. , a link up hosted by some lovely ladies (including me) from all over the world. You can see who they are at the end of the post and I encourage you to visit their blogs and check out what they have written for this month’s prompt.
We would love you to join in so at the end of the post you can find the link and also the prompts for the coming months. It would be great for you to link up with us and participate in the Tell Us About Link Up. I’ve put some details below for when the link up opens and dates for the diary.
Each month one of the members selects a topic/prompt and this month it is Rosie Amber who has selected ‘Tell Us About….THURSDAYS
For my Tell Us About Prompts I am trying to align the prompt with my WOTY – Bloom so for this post, I’m writing about Celebrating Thursdays and how they can allow us to bloom!
Thursdays are like the gentle nudge of a new blossom opening—an invitation to pause, reflect, and continue blooming in life. Nestled between the energy of midweek and the promise of the weekend, Thursdays hold a quiet power, reminding us that growth doesn’t happen all at once. It unfolds, moment by moment, choice by choice. Embracing Thursdays means celebrating how far we’ve come and leaning into the beauty of who we’re becoming, one bloom at a time.
We are all familiar with the old rhyme ‘Thursday’s child has far to go’. It’s a reminder that we’re on a journey, making strides towards our goals—sometimes with a bit of extra effort, but always moving forward.
Whether you’re feeling motivated to crush the rest of the week or just surviving until Friday, Thursday always has something to offer.
The best part of Thursday?
To me it’s like waiting for Christmas. The excitement of Friday and the weekend is just around the corner, and there’s this sweet sense of anticipation in the air. You’re close to completing everything you set out to do for the week, but there’s still enough time to savour the small victories, wrap up tasks, and plan for the weekend.
The Worst part of Thursday
You know the feeling – you can feel like you’re almost there but not quite. You know the feeling ‘are we there yet?’. It’s that mix of exhaustion from the week catching up with you, the mental battle of staying focused, and just wanting to fast forward to Friday and the longed for weekend. That’s where the real growth happens. We push through and finish strong.
Special Thursdays
The second Thursday of the month, is VERY special because that is when we have our Tell Us About Link Up!
Special Thursdays to Celebrate
Thankful Thursday: Take a moment to reflect on what you’re grateful for. Whether it’s something big or small, being thankful can help shift your mindset for the rest of the week. –
Throwback Thursday: A fun day to revisit memories! Whether it’s a picture from the past or a story that brings you joy, take a moment to reflect on the good times and share the nostalgia. –
Thoughtful Thursday: Use today to show kindness—whether it’s a small act of service or sending a message of appreciation to someone. It’s a great way to brighten someone’s day. –
Thursday Motivation: The day to boost your energy and enthusiasm for the weekend! Find something that fires you up—be it music, a motivational quote, or a quick workout—and power through the rest of the week.
Maundy Thursday: A deeply significant day in the Christian liturgical calendar, Maundy Thursday marks the day of the Last Supper, where Jesus shared His final meal with His disciples before His crucifixion. It’s a day of reflection, humility, and service, symbolized by the washing of feet and acts of charity. If you’re reflecting on faith today, consider the meaning of this day and its messages of love and service.
Some Historical Thursdays
April 4, 1968 – Martin Luther King Jr.’s Assassination
July 20, 1969 – Apollo 11 Moon Landing
The Founding of the United Nations (October 24, 1945)
So, whether you’re tackling that to-do list or just riding the Thursday wave, take a moment to appreciate where you are. Thursday’s child has far to go, and you’re already doing great.
Keep going, the weekend is waiting!
